Misra Chapu

This thalam is excellent. Made me just sit and listen to it again and again. Was listening to Ennaallorage and Tsallare sung by Subbalakshmi. The compositions were great and the voice that recited it produced a moment of absolute peace.

certainity of uncertainity

They never come out right :( I have worked with them for 3 years now and they always fail the first time. all the precautions, necessary alignments, etc., have been taken care. A few microns away they behave and where it matters most they misbehave. I take breaks, long breaks, to overcome the sorrow of loosing them and prepare myself to work on the rest. May be I will come up with some new ideas in my life time to remove this uncertainity and misbehaviour.

the sun has come out and feels good to go outside. Temperature outside, 49F. Weird for this time of the year. Was dreaming of snow last night. Do I really yearn for it? Visited the lab after two full days of sleeping and eating. Found that the old and experienced horses still running a few extra miles for Indian cricket.

in a state of peace

I have finally said it. I have let it go. I am at a friend's place who is very dear to me. A great evening of fun and frolic. Tasted the hyderabadi biryani. Watched UNM loose the first new mexico bowl :(.
Started yesterday early in the morning to get a flight from Chicago. The six hour wait at the airport included some random conversations with people waiting for delayed flights, meeting former students of UofI, a frustrated couple trying to go to denver for the past 2-1/2 days. The lost baggage on landing and letting out their frustration and anger by other passengers, a rude costumer service at the AA counter. All this was gone. The moment P called me. It was a visit long due.
For the second time I have gone through the same circumstances. I got over them before and I know, will do so again. NO BIG DEAL. Reminds of this song "I get knocked down; but I get up again" by chumbawumba.
Adios and Happy holidays to you all :)

Determination :D

Completed my work earlier than I anticipated this week. There is plenty of time at hand and was slacking a little bit. Suddenly 'S' comes to lab and gives me big jolt asking me about this and that project. There are so many things to do and I cannot rest a bit until March.

wooo wohooo

A jolly song to go with a little taste of success :D

lekar hum deewaanaa dil firate hain manjil manjil
kahee to pyaare, kisee kinaare, mil jaao tum andhere ujaale

jis galee ke tum us galee ke hum par ye majabooreeyaa yahaa
tum yahee kahee, hum yahee kahee, fir bhee ye dooriyaa yahaa
waah ree duniyaan, duniyaan tere jalawe hain niraale

too kahee rahe, yoo lage muze, mere dil ke paas hain yahaa
maangoo teree khair, aa tere bagair, dil meraa udaas hain yahaa

Story - Beginning, The Famous Goli Player

I really need to work and haven't accomplished anything today. But this idea of writing a story has been on mind for a couple of days now. Inspired by all the desi movies I have been watching and the discussions I had with my friends about them. I will start this today and will end (hopefully) in a few postings. Well, I know it is the cliched topic: A Love Story :). The main story is about a boy gopi and his friends shravika, jyothsna and sunder.

OK. Unlike newborn babies touching each other and then falling in love later in their lives. We will start with a little grown up ones who don't know about the word love other than when they say, "Amma, I love you soooo much".
The school bell rang at Goliramguda in the small town/city, Asmabad. Like many cities in their country it was named after queen Asma. Goliramguda got its name after the famous goli (marble game) player Ramu, who won the world championship in 19XX. It was called world championship because that year when the schoolmasterji was reading the daily newspaper he found that a particular country always calls its local players WC whevever they play "kusti" (the modern name is different for it, in the country it is played). The style of game it happens is not played anywhere else. Ever since, the locals took inspiration and call their champion, WC.

memories old and new

Was listening to some telugu filmy songs from 70's and 80's. Especially, those from sirivennela. I felt like the songs touch me in someway.

Ee gaali ee nela (this air, this land) - reminds me of my hometown and its beauty as I see it when I was a kid.
Prakruti kantaku yennenni kalalO - is another beauty describing the nature.
Merise taaraladeroopam - wonderfully put in to words about what matters most in ****.

All I wanted to say today is, " my dear, I hope, I was not your colour of the week". Some memories stay still and come right in front of you when you think .................................................

only upwards

I feel relaxed and have time to pursue things the way I like. I had hit the rock bottom in everything a couple of weeks back. The only way to go now is upwards.
Thanks to all those who supported during this period :)
adios
